Ran into this weird issue, on certain computers i will get a HTTP 403 Forbidden error

The website declined to show this webpage

 HTTP 403

Most likely causes:

  • This website requires you to log in.

What you can try:

This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

Otherwise if you don't get this error it works great, you can login to sharepoint no problems. Anyone else encounter this?

Hi there,

Just wanted to confirm - I'm facing the exact same issue - but everytime on all computers. I've tried recompiling the project for Sharepoint 2010 to try and get Live ID authentication working - but I end up with the same error as the original poster.

Does anyone know what to do / how to fix this? I found this online (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaevans/archive/2010/07/09/creating-a-custom-login-page-for-sharepoint-2010.aspx) - however - I'm not sure how to apply this info (if it is applicable at all) to my situation. (Note: I'm new to Sharepoint, but I am very comfortable with ASP.NET and IIS).

Regards,

Krishna
